Cardz TV 3D Designers Challenge

This is another first for me. I made my very first S fold card for a challenge at Cardz TV. Mary is so inspirational and I love all her cards. She is a great teacher for a new card maker like me.

I had some challenges when making this card. The first was figuring out the base card stock size I needed to fit a size A2 envelope. In many tutorials the card dimension given is for the end card size and not the base piece you need to start with. I had to dig around on the internet and I finally found what I was looking for.

The answer: take an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of card stock and put the 11 inch side against the top ruler of your cutter. Cut your paper at 5 1/2 inches. You then have two base pieces to score for your S fold or gate fold card. I will have to try a gate fold card sometime soon for another first. Maybe for another Cardz TV challenge since I am hooked!

The sentiment and flower stamps I used were not top quality stamps. They didn't pick up the ink as well as I expected them to. I've seen some tutorials on how to fix this problem and I'll have to see if it really does help.

In my picture you can barely see the mat piece inside the card to write my personal message. I found this poem on the internet and may include it inside my card. You are an everlasting bloom in a wonderful garden where only love and beauty grows!

  3. Great card-- love that bright paper! If you try rubbing the stamp with an emery board very gently that might help :) Thanks for creating with us at CardzTV Stamps :)
